This was my first visit to Poland and a friend suggested we have lunch at the Villa Greta. What an incredible way to make a first impression! The food, service and hospitality was amazing. The staff went out of their way to prepare an authentic meal and ensure I was completely satisfied with each dish. I only wish my visit was longer and we had the opportunity to stay overnight. Thanks for the wonderful experience!
This guesthouse in Silesia in the far Southwest of Poland is one of the nicest I have experienced. It represents exceptional value, with lovely rooms and overall atmosphere, and its location in a beautiful rural village. It is a little out of the way: we wouldn’t have known about it without the assistance of Polish friends, but it is worth the effort in finding it. The young, enthusiastic owners are very eager to please and are happy to sit down and have a drink with you (especially the local beers) and regale you with tales about the villa or the local area. The restaurant incorporated in the guesthouse is also of an excellent standard. Many of the ingredients are sourced from the villa garden or local stocks. The wild mushroom soup is to die for!. Villa Greta is an exceptional place to stay and I would be amazed to hear of anyone who left it without being enriched by their experience.
A very nice and pleasant place with excellent (slow) food. We have now lunched here 3 times and would like to come back for this every day! Very nice playing garden for the kids. Very friendly staff who are willing to prepare spaghetti that is not on the menu! Kids love it.
We have just returned from a 6 night stay at Villa Greta. Its a beautiful part of Lower Silesia to be in and Kris and Ewelina could not have been more hospitable. They went out of their way to help us organise and interesting and varied stay to cater for a party of 4 adults and 3 children. The food is excellent and the atmosphere at the big table in the old cow barn is like a house party. The language barrier, did not matter as all of the other guests were German was not a hindrance. The new attic family rooms are lovely and well thought out. We enjoyed eating local food and looked forward to seeing what Yola had prepared for us each evening. There are plenty of local attractions to see and although not all had English information there was usually someone who had a few words to help us.
We all enjoyed sitting around the campfire getting to know the other guests. I would definitely reccommend Villa Greta to anyone thinking of visiting Lower Silesia. There is something very special about the place..it weaves a magic spell.
Thank you once more to Ewelina & Kris. Just to add to the comments of the Bache family, we have had a truly wonderful time in Villa Greta, we already miss the place and hospitality and of course Yola’s cooking! We made some new friends and had a great time exploring the sorrounding area. Kids had a lot of fun with all the recommended activities and we have already told all our friends about the place. We hope to see you again some time in the future. Thank you
