Among others, daughter Margareta. After World War II, Lower Silesia became part of Poland, and a German woman named Greta fell in love with a Polish <a href=\"https:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Operacja_polska_NKWD_(1937%E2%80%931938)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">soldier \u2013 a Siberian exile<\/a> \u2013 Janek Kowalski. While Greta&#8217;s entire family was <a href=\"https:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wysiedlenia_Niemc%C3%B3w_po_II_wojnie_%C5%9Bwiatowej\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">displaced to Germany<\/a>, Janek hid his chosen one in an attic at a friend&#8217;s house in a neighboring village and went to Warsaw to get permission to marry a German woman.<br \/>\nIt worked.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-image us_custom_502f64fe align_center meta_simple\"><div class=\"w-image-h\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"860\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/media.villagreta.pl\/villa-greta-polen.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"Greta Wittwer and Janek Kowalski\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/div><div class=\"w-image-meta\"><div class=\"w-image-title\">Greta Wittwer and Janek Kowalski. The grandparents of the owners of Villa Greta.<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>They settled in the Wittwer family&#8217;s home. Janek and Greta Kowalski lived happily ever after. They lived to see five children and a host of grandchildren. One of them is me, Krzysiek Rozp\u0119dowski. The name of the house &#8220;Villa Greta&#8221; is therefore a memory of <strong>Grandma Greta.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_custom\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_middle type_default stacking_default\" style=\"--columns-gap:;\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"g-cols wpb_row us_custom_2c72b774 via_grid cols_2 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\" style=\"--columns-gap:32px;\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"w-image align_center meta_simple\"><div class=\"w-image-h\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"434\" src=\"https:\/\/media.villagreta.pl\/villa-greta-kleinhelmsdorf.jpg\" class=\"attachment-full size-full\" alt=\"Villa Greta\" loading=\"lazy\" \/><\/div><div class=\"w-image-meta\"><div class=\"w-image-title\">Villa Greta in 1912. We met at the train station in <a title=\"Quetta Pakistan\" href=\"https:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kweta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">Quetta<\/a>, Pakistan. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Since then, we have been traveling together. The whole Rozp\u0119dowski family :)<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container us_custom_687446a6 round-corners has_bg_color\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><section class=\"av_textblock_section \">\n<div class=\"avia_textblock \">\n<p>We created the Villa Greta guesthouse and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.villagreta.pl\/en\/restaurant\/\">restaurant<\/a>. We received our first guests in 2005. A lot has changed since then.  <\/p>\n<p>Probably the most important change was the arrival of children in our lives: Tosia in 2007 and Tymek in 2010.
