Arnold’s House

Where did the name Arnold’s House

come from?

Before World War II, the Lower Silesia belonged to the Germans. After the war, from 1945, all Germans were displaced, and Poles displaced from the areas of today’s Ukraine and looking for a new life, residents of other regions of Polish began to arrive in the Lower Silesia.

However, German professionals were displaced with a delay, often several years. Until the 1950s, a German electrician named Arnold, whom the Polish authorities allowed to leave only after passing on the knowledge of electrics to the new settlers, lived in the house from the photos.

Arnold's House

In my childhood, the Arnold’s House had various functions. The ground floor was inhabited by animals: pigs, cows, horse, chickens, and on the first floor there was a dovecote and a warehouse. One side of the house was occupied by parts to Ursus, the other side – by flour, onions, sometimes wheat or peas. Grandma Greta often shouted to one of her grandchildren:

Krzysiu, Grzesiu, Lucynka go for a pot of flour to the Arnold’s!

Today at the Arnold’s House

you will find four suites

The Arnold’s House today consists of four family suites (on the first and second floor) and two rooms on the ground floor. Each suite has a separate entrance, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The suites provide privacy, are quiet and cozy. In each of them, the floor is covered with a natural, oiled oak stave. The roof of the Arnold’s House is covered with original, unique, no longer available red slate.

Rooms for different occasions

On the ground floor of the Arnold’s House there are also two halls. They can be used for events, intimate parties or trainings. You don’t have to worry about noise during your stay! We always take care of the well-being of guests staying overnight and do not rent rooms for grand parties until late hours, if there are guests in the house who do not take part in the event. Receptions until dawn are only possible if the entire facility is rented exclusively.
