Study visit – frequently asked questions

  • it is a way to gain practical knowledge and draw on the experience of people and organizations that have managed to achieve success. During the study visit, we pass on the knowledge that we have gained on our own over the years of activity, based on our own trial and error. Such knowledge cannot be found in books
  • all those who would like to make use of our knowledge are welcome to visit! It is extremely important for you to see the effects of our work on site, understand the effort made, but also to come back to your communitites richer in realistic ideas and inspirations
  • we also conduct away lectures, although knowledge is more effectively transferred on a living example
  • Active local communities and organizations operating in rural areas will benefit the most from the study visit with us:
    – groups of local leaders
    – commune authorities who have a problem with stimulating the activity of society
    – NGO activists
    – representatives of local cross-sectoral partnerships, for example in Local Action Groups

We will invite you to the Sudetic Geoscience Centre, the only educational centre in the Lower Silesia run without ongoing financial support from, for example, local governments or business.
  • the village of Dobkow, which has already achieved many successes due to the activity of residents and its activities for the promotion and development of small businesses. In 2011, Dobkow received the Most Beautiful Village of the Lower Silesia award, and in 2017 the European Rural Renewal Award. Dobkow also belongs to the network of the most interesting villages in Poland.
  • The Rudnicki family: ceramic artists who have been running their own studio for 10 years – Galeria pod Aniołem in Dobkow, organising interesting, activating workshops for thousands of guests a year
  • the Rozpędowski family: the owners of the Villa Greta guesthouse and restaurant, who in the former farm of their grandparents successfully run accommodation and catering activities in the spirit of Slow Food – Slow Life. Excellent service and beautiful surroundings are appreciated by thousands of guests, and the restaurant for the fourth time was included in the prestigious Gault & Millau Poland guide thanks to excellent cuisine
  • Marcin Jaśkiewicz, an educator-geologist, a man with a real passion for the oldest history of the Earth, conducting field geological workshops that attract hundreds of guests every year. This is an example of a small, one-man business using local natural values
