Palace Park in Maciejowa – a place of past splendor near Jelenia Góra.
Information
- Maciejowa is a village that is currently a district of Jelenia Góra (at the entrance from Wrocław)
- you will find here a forgotten, historic park, whose glory days have passed in 1945, but now a group of residents is trying to recreate its former beauty
- the park is an old beech forest with many valuable plantings of plants brought from afar
- there are two marked paths with boards informing about the history of the place, their start is at the entrance barrier
- at the top of the hill there is an observation tower, unfortunately inaccessible to visitors
- in the middle of the park stands the dilapidated Becker family mausoleum, where the horror film “Redwood” directed by Tom Paton was recently shot, hence the grotesque sculpture in the place where a statue of Jesus stood before the war (2021 update: the figure is no longer there)
