Castle in Rokitnica – one of the oldest brick castles in Poland.

Information

  • the castle in Rokitnica is considered one of the oldest brick castles in Poland, it dates back to the early thirteenth century
  • the building was originally surrounded by a moat, its task was to m.in. protection of areas rich in gold
  • in the fifteenth century, it became the seat of knights-robbers, and then demolished. It was never rebuilt – today you can only see one wall of it
  • an educational trail with information boards leads to the place where you will learn about the history of the stronghold
  • the ruins of the castle are located near Złotoryja
  • for visiting the place you will receive a sticker for the Explorer’s Passport
